J.L. Goor Materials formed in 1999 as the result of the merger of the Distribution businesses of two long standing and successful companies –
J.L. Goor Ltd & G.B. Miller & Sons.
J.L. Goor Ltd was founded in 1982 by John Goor to supply the equipment needs of the plastics processing industry in Ireland. As the company grew, customers began asking for help in sourcing polymers and from this grew a substantial polymer Distribution business which complemented the machinery sales.
J.L. Goor Ltd are still leading suppliers of equipment to Irish Plastics Processors, representing such industry leaders as Fanuc Roboshop (fully electric injection moulding machines); Piovan (handling equipment); and Star Automation (robots and general automation).
G.B. Miller & Son was run by Colm Hyland who had been the ExxonMobil Distributor for Polyolefins since 1979. Colm had a long and successful relationship with Exxon, being their exclusive Distributor for Ireland for many years.
Both companies agreed that by combining their portfolios of materials, together with their experience and knowledge of the Irish market, they could create a stronger and more successful business. As a result J.L. Goor Materials was formed in September 1999.
By focussing on our customers and suppliers needs we have enjoyed a period of strong growth and by 2006 we had trebled in size and have become the largest Distributor of Polymers to the Irish market.
Today, after a period of planned re-structuring, the company is privately owned by Gearoid Clarke, Joe Wall and Louis Goor and the goal is continue the successful growth that have been experienced over recent years. |
Gearoid has a Masters Degree in Polymer Science and nearly 15 years experience in the industry. Gearoid is very involved in sales on a day-to-day basis, as this is the core of the business.
Debbie is the Office Manager & Financial Controller, with over 12 years experience in industry.
Brendan manages all of the planning and procurement for our transport & warehousing.
Noel has 17 years experience in industry. He has wide experience including working in R&D, Technical Support and Development Sales. His work focuses on technical business development in E&E, Medical, Automotive, Construction, Industrial, Hygiene with advanced engineering polymers.

Joe has been involved in the industry in the UK, Europe and Ireland since 1980 and is responsible for Sales.
Rita has many years of experience, both in Customer Service & Accounts. Rita manages all the day-to-day accounting issues for the company.
Jessica is from Pennsylvania, USA and looks after our Customer Service requirements, including our managing our Kan-Ban stocks |
